On the day of harvest, plants are cut at the base of their stalks and removed from the Flowering Rooms.
The plants are weighed individually, and we record all of the “wet weights” for the entire harvest on a strain-by-strain basis. Our METRC-integrated weighing systems automatically push these weights to our compliance software.
METRC tags are aggregated, stored, and locked in our facility for over a year as we maintain a physical record of the harvest batch.
A “wet weight” represents the total weight of a cannabis plant immediately after it is harvested. Over the course of the drying period, the plant will typically lose 80% or more of its total weight. This is called “wet weight loss,” and it is due to the fact that the plant mass is mostly comprised of water molecules.

In the drying rooms, each row of plants is labeled and strains are carefully recorded in our internal tracking systems to ensure plants stay organized.
Marijuana plants are typically ready for harvest when the majority of their trichomes, small crystal-like structures on the buds, have turned from clear to cloudy or amber. This typically indicates that the plant has reached peak maturity and that the psychoactive compounds in the buds are at their highest concentration. Growers can also check the maturity of the plant based on the pistils coloration, and leaf's yellowing.
