Medical Marijuana Mother Plants

Mother Plants are high-quality plants with attractive genetics that continuously supply the rest of the cultivation operation with fresh plants. Our Mother Plants are sequestered in their own living space called a “Mother Room.” This is done to ensure that our cultivation team maintains a healthy stock of genetics. We always keep a stock of 10 or more Mother Plants for each of our 40+ strains.

Cuttings are taken from Mother Plants, which then become “clones.” Those clones start the process of growing the next generation of plants that are grown in other parts of our facility. The clones have the same genes as their mothers, ensuring consistent quality and characteristics across each specific strain.

How do mother plants differ from regular marijuana plants?

While they grow to be large plants, mother plants never actually enter the “flowering” stage because the light cycle is kept at 18 hours on / 6 hours off. A more even light cycle (12 hours on / 12 hours off) is what triggers plants to begin their flowering stage.
